Educator and Speaker.
Dr. Michelle Machado is an educator, speaker, and author of Weapons of Mass Distraction, whose work explores how distraction and performance-driven expectations disconnect people from themselves, their relationships, and their purpose. Drawing on nearly two decades in education and academia across four countries, she brings classroom experience, educational leadership, and personal experience of burnout to her message of presence over performance. She holds a PhD and an MBA, and her leadership experience includes overseeing the launch of a new medical school. Her speaking journey has taken her from local workshops to international conferences and two TEDx talks, addressing the human connections technology cannot replace. Through frameworks including the Human Connection Framework and Sacred Hour Framework, she offers practical ways to examine attention, establish boundaries, and build intentional daily practices. A mother of two daughters raised in an Indian household, Machado draws on family life and her Christian faith to explore inherited expectations, emotional repair, and the example adults set for children. Anchored by four transformational pillars—Awaken, Align, Activate, and Anchor—this book offers a path out of survival mode and back into intentional living.
