Leadership Speaker.
Shane Battier is a retired professional basketball player, leadership speaker, and investor known as the “No-Stats All-Star” for contributions to winning that went beyond the box score. Across a 13-year NBA career with Memphis, Houston, and Miami, he built his reputation on preparation, defensive intelligence, and making teammates better, earning two championships with the Miami Heat. At Duke University, he helped lead the Blue Devils to the 2001 national championship and earned national player of the year honors. His experience competing under championship coaches informs his approach to leadership: build trust, clarify the mission, uphold standards, and do the unglamorous work consistently. He also served as the Heat’s Vice President of Analytics and Basketball Development, extending his use of data from the court to organizational decision-making. Raised in Birmingham, Michigan, Battier credits his parents with teaching him to show up, support others, and do his best. He and his wife, Heidi, founded the Battier Take Charge Foundation to expand educational opportunities for underserved youth. For more information, connect with Shane Battier on LinkedIn.
