Biography
Andrew Paul McAfee is an American research scientist at MIT. He is also cofounder and codirector of the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy at the MIT Sloan School of Management. His research examines how digital technologies are changing the world.
In More from Less (2019), McAfee explores the relationship between technological progress, market-based economies, and environmental conditions. He argues that economic and population growth can occur alongside declining consumption of natural resources. Drawing on evidence from the United States and other countries, he attributes this shift primarily to the interaction of technology and capitalism, challenging the view that environmental protection necessarily requires restraining growth.
