Education & Learning
Brian Greene is a theoretical physicist and Columbia University professor whose research concerns string theory and whose nonfiction books explore physics and cosmology.
Biography
Brian Greene is an American physicist known for his research on string theory. He is a professor of physics and mathematics at Columbia University and directs its center for theoretical physics. His research contributions include co-discovering mirror symmetry, which relates two different Calabi–Yau manifolds, and describing the flop and conifold transitions, showing how topology can change smoothly in string theory.
Greene's nonfiction books include The Elegant Universe, The Fabric of the Cosmos, The Hidden Reality, and Until the End of Time, all of which reached the top ten on New York Times bestseller lists. He hosted two NOVA miniseries based on his books. He also co-founded the World Science Festival in 2008 and serves as its chairman.

The Hidden Reality
The Hidden Reality examines whether our universe may be one among many, exploring multiverse proposals arising from physics and cosmology. It uses analogies to explain possibilities including bubble universes, universes that cycle through time, quantum alternatives, and a multiverse made purely of mathematics.
