Biography
Chirag Shah is an American computer scientist, author, and university professor. He serves on the faculty of the University of Washington Information School, where he combines research, teaching, and leadership roles in information science and related areas.
Shah co-directs the Center for Responsibility in AI Systems & Experiences (RAISE) and founded the InfoSeeking Lab. His research focuses on information seeking, artificial intelligence, and the societal implications of AI systems. He is the author of Collaborative Information Seeking (2012) and was awarded the 2024 Research in Information Science Award by the Association for Information Science & Technology (ASIS&T) for his contributions to the field.
