Sid Meier's Memoir!
Sid Meier's Memoir! is a personal account of Meier’s life and career, recounting the founding of MicroProse after a trip to a Las Vegas arcade and the development of games from Pirates! and Railroad Tycoon to Civilization. Meier writes with warmth and ironic humor about his design philosophy—that a video game should be “a series of interesting decisions”—and shares perspectives on the industry, player psychology, and rules of good game design.
