The red bandanna
The Red Bandanna recounts Welles Crowther’s story, from the red handkerchief his father gave him as a child to his parents’ search for answers after the Twin Towers attacks. Eight months later, his mother read survivors’ accounts of a stranger wearing a red bandanna who led injured people down the South Tower’s stairs before returning upward.
