Novelist and Lecturer.
Sam Snarkisian is a novelist and Lecturer at Boston University, where he teaches college writing and introduction to communications writing. He is the author of The Institute, his debut novel, a satirical dystopian story examining information overload, misinformation, public distrust, government power, and the dangers facing a free and independent press. His authority on these themes draws from both his communications teaching and his sustained exploration of how language, media, and institutional influence shape what people believe to be true. Through an imaginative mix of government documents, media reports, social posts, diary entries, and dramatic scenes, The Institute considers what can happen when a public overwhelmed by conflicting information turns to a single authority for answers. He has several additional writing projects in development. Sam lives in Somerville, Massachusetts, with his dog, Mango, and enjoys playing amateur pool.
